GROUND IVY

#14- GROUND IVY, Glechoma hederacea

Ground Ivy is a creeping ground cover, commonly referred to as 'Creeping Charlie’ or ‘Gil Over the Ground’.  It has some promising effects for those that struggle with chronic sinus infections. In the video, I mention how sinus infections can be fungal. Ground Ivy is not known to be anti fungal, but if you have tried to overcome sinus irritation with no avail, introducing anti-fungal treatment may help bring relief.  As always, consult with your medical authority before including new protocols.

Ground Ivy should be tinctured with 40% alcohol. It makes a lovely tea but can be overpowering when chopped into salads. A little goes a long way in flavoring foods.

Many considered Ground Ivy an invasive plant. In WNC it is very abundant and  easy to come by. If you introduce it to your yard you just may soon have a Ground Ivy lawn!
