Ticks can carry multiple infectious organisms. Borrelia and the following organisms can be transmitted through the same tick bite. They are known as co-infections. While Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi) is the most common vector-borne illness in the USA, these other tick borne diseases are increasingly being reported:

The following are not true co-infections (carried by the tick) however many people who contract Lyme disease also contract or experience one or more of the following due to systemic inflammation or lack of immunity caused by the Lyme infection:
